Klong Tour Through the Thonburi Canal

A canal (klong) tour along Bangkok’s legendary Chao Phraya River and in the Thonburi area is one of the most interesting ways to discover the traditional charms of this city, known as the ‘Venice of the East’. Thonburi lies across the Chao Phraya river and tours on longtail boats around its numerous klongs (canals) are popular. It was briefly Thailand's capital in the 18th century after the fall of Ayutthaya, until King Rama I moved his court across the river to Bangkok.

Bangkok’s waterways are an integral part of the city’s landscape and offer a visitor fascinating glimpses into the traditional Thai way of life. Enjoy the ‘floating markets’ and the mobile homes by exploring the city's charming waterways. Boats with different coloured flags sailing on the river make for a picturesque scene.

Get a fabulous view of the towering spire of the magnificent Wat Arun temple, also known as the Temple of Dawn, one of the most famous landmarks of the city, situated on the west banks of the Chao Phraya river.

Take a canal tour of the city and discover the many charms of this bustling metropolis.
